My Story
Welcome to Teresa Gil Cross Stitch Design
We believe cross-stitch is more than just a craft—it’s a way to bring history, elegance, and artistry to life, one stitch at a time.
Meet the Designer
Like many of you, I have been stitching since childhood, creating little treasures like a pencil case adorned with my name and tiny flowers. Over time, my passion grew, and I found myself modifying existing patterns—changing colours, reshaping elements, and adding intricate details to make them truly my own.
My journey into design began in 2012 during the celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee. I was captivated by Norman Hartnell’s original sketch for her Coronation Dress, a breathtaking gown embroidered with the floral emblems of the UK and Commonwealth. When I searched for a cross-stitch pattern of this historic masterpiece, I found nothing—so I decided to create one myself.
It was a challenge that required overcoming many technical hurdles and countless hours of refinement, but it ignited a passion for design that has only grown stronger. Today, I draw inspiration from the timeless elegance of haute couture, from the regal designs of Norman Hartnell to the artistry of Dior, channeling their beauty into each pattern I create.
Inspired by History & Elegance
You’ll find designs that celebrate the grace of royalty, the romance of Victorian and Edwardian florals, and the sophistication of haute couture. Whether it’s a tribute to an iconic gown or a delicate floral motif inspired by antique botanical books, each pattern is crafted with meticulous attention to detail.
